The average household size was 2.28 and the average family size was 2.82. The median income for a household in Wainscott was $55,714, and the median income for a family was $52,250. Males had a median income of $46,250 versus $41,458 for females. The per capita income for the region was $34,058. About 2.0% of families and 9.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.7% of those under age 18 and 5.5% of those age 65 or over.
